Privacy policy

Effective date: September 6, 2026
Last updated: September 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how WuffyTails ("WuffyTails", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit wuffytails.com, buy from us, or contact us.

We are based in Los Angeles, California, United States. If you have any question about this policy, email us at info@wuffytails.com.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you place an order, create an account, subscribe to our emails, leave a review or contact support, you may give us:

  • Name, email address and phone number
  • Shipping and billing address
  • Order contents and order history
  • Messages you send to our support team
  • Your dog's name or size, if you share it so we can help you choose a fit

Payment information. Card payments are processed by Shopify Payments and other payment providers. We never see or store your full card number. We receive only the last four digits, the card brand and whether the payment succeeded.

Information collected automatically. When you browse the store we and our providers collect:

  • Device and browser type, operating system and language
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Pages viewed, products viewed, items added to cart, referring website
  • Cookie and similar identifiers (see section 4)

2. How we use your information

  • To fulfil your order — process payment, ship your parcel, send order and delivery updates, and handle returns.
  • To provide support — answer your questions and resolve problems.
  • To improve the store — understand which products and pages are useful, and fix what is not working.
  • To market to you — send emails you have subscribed to, and show you relevant ads on third-party platforms. You can opt out at any time.
  • To prevent fraud — screen orders and protect the store and our customers.
  • To meet legal obligations — tax, accounting and consumer protection requirements.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only with service providers who need it to run the store:

  • Shopify Inc. — our ecommerce platform, which hosts the store and processes orders. Shopify privacy policy.
  • Payment providers — Shopify Payments, PayPal, Afterpay and any other method offered at checkout, to take payment.
  • Shipping carriers and fulfilment partners — to deliver your order and provide tracking.
  • Email and SMS providers — to send order notifications and, if you subscribed, marketing messages.
  • Analytics and advertising providers — including Google Analytics and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), as described in section 4.
  • Professional advisers and authorities — where required by law, or to establish or defend legal claims.

If WuffyTails is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will tell you before it becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, measure how the store performs, and measure and target advertising.

Advertising and measurement partners. We use the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API to measure the performance of ads we run on Facebook and Instagram and to show ads to people likely to be interested in our products. This means we share limited event data with Meta — such as pages viewed, products viewed, items added to cart and completed purchases, together with identifiers such as a hashed email address, where available.

You can control this in several ways:

  • Use the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer of our store.
  • Adjust your ad settings in your Meta account.
  • Opt out of Google Analytics with the Google opt-out add-on.
  • Use your browser's cookie controls or a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honour as an opt-out of sale/sharing where required by law.

Do Not Track. Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no common industry standard for how to interpret it, so we do not currently respond to DNT signals. We do honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which we treat as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.

Third-party tracking across sites. Yes — the analytics and advertising providers named above may collect information about your online activity over time and across other websites, including after you leave our store. Their own privacy policies govern what they do with it.

The two paragraphs above are disclosures required by the California Online Privacy Protection Act, Business and Professions Code § 22575.

5. Your California privacy rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use and disclose.
  • Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions such as completing a transaction or complying with tax law.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information, though we do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We will not deny you products, charge you a different price or give you lower quality service.

We do not sell personal information for money. Our use of advertising cookies may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CPRA. To opt out, use the "Your Privacy Choices" link in our footer or email info@wuffytails.com with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information".

To exercise any right, email info@wuffytails.com. We will verify your request by matching the details you give us against our records, and respond within 45 days. You may use an authorised agent; we may ask for proof of their authority.

6. "Shine the Light" — California Civil Code § 1798.83

California residents may request, once per calendar year, a list of the categories of personal information we disclosed to third parties for those third parties' own direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year, together with the names and addresses of those third parties.

We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing. We share it only with the service providers listed in section 3, who may use it solely to provide services to us.

To make a request under this law, email info@wuffytails.com with the subject "Your California Privacy Rights". We respond within 30 days.

7. Your rights in the EEA and UK

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal information, and the right to data portability. Our legal bases are performance of a contract (to fulfil your order), legitimate interests (to run and improve the store and prevent fraud), consent (for marketing and non-essential cookies) and legal obligation. You may withdraw consent at any time and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Your information is processed in the United States, under Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism where required.

8. How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfil the order and then for the period required by tax and accounting law — generally seven years in the United States. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Support conversations are kept for up to three years. Analytics data is kept in aggregated form.

9. Security

The store runs on Shopify, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified, and all pages are served over encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we limit access to personal information to people who need it to do their job.

10. Children

Our store is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email info@wuffytails.com and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or the law. We will update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will give notice on the store or by email.
